The Gateshead Cheder Primary School is a small Jewish boys school and is registered to admit pupils from three to 11 years of age. It was established in October 2009 and serves the strictly Orthodox Jewish Community in Gateshead, providing for pupils’ specific religious and educational needs. The school moved to its current site (the Bede House office block on Sunderland Road) in September 2012 and the number of registered pupils has increased to over 250. The school is acknowledged by the council to fulfil an important central function within the local and regional Jewish community.
Temporary planning permission for the school was granted on the 15 October 2015. This planning permission was renewed on the 30 May 2018 and all conditions were discharged by ourselves.
