Planning permission was granted for work on this spectacular listed building in the heart of Middlesbrough. This included the demolition of rear offshoot and construction of three storey extension to the rear. Therefore enabling restoration and conversion of the existing building to provide shops, offices at ground floor and offices at first and second floor.
The extension and conversion to retail and office use is deemed to be consistent with the commercial uses of the location and was not detrimental to any adjoining or surrounding properties. This enables the heritage of this historic Middlesbrough landmark to be kept in tact whilst modernising its use for the 21st Century.
