Gateshead Council and Newcastle City Council have just launched a call for sites, which is running until the 5th December 2025 (https://www.newcastlegatesheadplan.org/article/35134/Call-for-Sites )
A ‘Call for Sites’ is a process which local authorities undertake to identify land suitable for future development, to be considered for allocation in the local plan.
Having a site allocated means that the local planning authority has decided that development on that land is acceptable in principle for a specific use, meaning that any future planning application is more likely to obtain approval (subject to meeting the necessary technical requirements).
If you would like to explore whether your site is suitable for a potential allocation, please or help in preparing a strong submission, please get in touch with our team of chartered planners by clicking here or emailing planning@ethicalplanning.co.uk
We can provide professional guidance on site suitability, planning potential, and the submission process to give your land the best chance of being allocated.
