Jo is based in Manchester.
Jo holds an MSc in Urban Planning (Green Infrastructure and Landscape Planning Pathway) from Newcastle University. She has worked on a wide range of projects, including:
- Equestrian and forestry development in the Green Belt
- Early stage masterplanning and feasibility studies for a new settlement (including stakeholder engagement)
- Providing briefings on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects for clients and Local Planning Authority officers
- Engaging with LEPs and economic forums
- Heritage development including Listed Building Consent, a bespoke dwelling in a Conservation Area, and Scheduled Monument Consent
- Providing planning support to faith and community groups, charities and minority groups for a range of projects including a due diligence review of a potential new meeting venue and obtaining planning permission for a minority school.
Outside of work, I spend time exploring the great outdoors with my toddler (and my husband sometimes comes along, too!). I help to run a community choir in my local area, and I enjoy running, aerial yoga, baking and having lots of people round for meals to help build a sense of community. I’m very partial to a National Trust tea room… and I have (as of yet) unrealised ambitions to make my own clothes. Since completing my MSc Urban Planning, I have also worked in Teaching Assistant and Visiting Lecturer roles at Newcastle University.
