We successfully secured outline planning permission for an urban extension to a County Durham town involving up to 135 Dwellings, 13 no. Research & Development, Industrial and Light Industrial Buildings (12,520 sq.m total, B1 and B2 use), cemetery extension and associated landscaping. We commissioned all the technical surveys and assessments required for the application, these identified regionally significant archaeological features which were successfully recorded. Surface water drainage together with a lack of capacity in the sewage treatment facilities were overcome through negotiation with the relevant bodies.
The phasing of the urban extension together with the contributions to offsite infrastructure and the delivery of affordable housing were included in the S.106 which we drafted. The Reserved Matters Application has been granted following the successful completion of the offsite infrastructure, including the additional sewage capacity. Work has now started on site with the construction of the access road and housing.
