We acted as the client’s planning agent and designer, securing full planning consent for a residential development within the Wallsend Conservation Area. The derelict site presented an opportunity to create a distinctive residential development, and we conducted detailed appraisals to ensure that the design treatment was appropriate for the conservation area, in line with planning policies and local guidance.
The contemporary development involved the extension and refurbishment of Cross House Cottage and the adjacent Coal Yard, which had suffered fire damage several years ago. Our approach carefully considered the relationship between the site’s development, including layout, scale, mass, and materials, resulting in a successful and cohesive design.
