We successfully secured planning permission for a farm to diversify into the provision of stables and dressage facilities. The planning application included stables for 12 horses together with a full size outdoor dressage arena with lighting (20m x 60m). The scope of the successful planning application also included a new vehicular access to the equestrian centre from the public highway.
The site is located within the green belt and as such the application included justification against both local national green belt policy, including ‘openness’. The new highway access is within a Conservation Area and the relocation of an 19th century estate wall was approved. The rerouting of a public right of way was also approved. All conditions attached to the permission have been discharged and the facility is constructed and is operating profitably.
