Planning Permission Secured for EV Charging Hub in County Durham

We are delighted to share that our team has successfully supported a client in securing planning permission for a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station at a commercial retail park in County Durham.

This exciting project will deliver a 16-bay EV charging car park, a dedicated substation building, a solar carport, and a range of other ancillary works to support the scheme. Once complete, the development will significantly enhance the area’s EV infrastructure, providing more accessible and sustainable charging facilities for local residents, visitors, and businesses.

Our commission covered the full planning application process, from preparing the submission itself to coordinating the work of a wide range of specialist consultants. We managed contributions from Architects, Transport Consultants, Biodiversity Experts, Landscape Architects, Geo-environmental specialists, and Civil Engineers.

By taking on a central project management role, we ensured all inputs were aligned, coherent, and delivered within the necessary timeframes.

In addition to securing planning approval, we also prepared and submitted a successful application for advertisement consent to support the branding and visibility of the site. This holistic approach means that all aspects of the development can now move forward with clarity and confidence.

This project marks another step towards improving EV infrastructure across the UK, enabling more drivers to make the switch to electric vehicles. We are proud to have contributed our expertise to a scheme that supports both sustainable travel and the future resilience of our towns and cities.
