Re:fit Air Source Heat Pumps

  • Location: Medway, Kent

Following the declaration of a Climate Change Emergency within Medway Council, they initiated a RE:FIT programme to reduce CO2 emissions and energy costs. In collaboration with SSE Energy Solutions, they sought to deliver multiple energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects throughout the borough.

We successfully secured planning permission for the installation of ground-mounted Air Source Heat Pumps on 11 separate council-owned buildings including; libraries, youth centres, family hubs, and care centres. Our role was to utilise our planning and drawing experience to support the client through the submission process and navigate legal frameworks to present a robust case for development to the council.

By collaborating with various subconsultants and engaging with national and local planning policies, we were able to ensure that the proposals met standards and therefore was viewed favourably upon submission. We navigated sensitive issues surrounding both visual and noise pollution to reduce risk to the submission as well as those living within the local area.
