A Reminder for Upcoming Changes to Planning Fees

From 1st April 2025, planning application fees in England will increase under new amendments to the Town and Country Planning Regulations. These changes, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 12-month rate for September 2024, introduce a 1.7% increase across most application types, with some fees adjusted beyond this rate.

For example:

  • Householder applications for extensions will rise to £528.
  • Full applications for single new dwellings will increase to £528, while those for two or more dwellings will now cost £1,043.
  • Outline applications for housing developments will be subject to tiered increases based on site size, with fees for major developments exceeding £200,000.
