Earlier this week, Alannah and Rosie spent the day volunteering at Woodhorn Museum in Ashington, supporting the restoration of the historic Woodhorn Narrow Gauge Railway.
As a planning consultancy with a strong track record in securing consents for rail and transport infrastructure, it was a welcome change of pace to get involved on the ground by helping to relay the tracks and contribute to a valuable piece of local heritage.
The day was made possible thanks to coordination by our friends at AECOM, and it was a great opportunity to connect with others who are equally passionate about supporting community-led projects.
At Ethical Planning, we’re committed to giving back and championing community-driven initiatives. Whether it’s lending our expertise to support planning for local heritage schemes or rolling up our sleeves to help out in person, we’re always keen to collaborate with community groups on projects that make a difference.
We look forward to seeing the Woodhorn Narrow Gauge Railway reopen and continue its legacy as a much-loved feature of the museum and wider community.
