June Roundup: A Busy Month for Ethical Planning

As June draws to a close, Team EP has been reflecting on another busy and rewarding month supporting clients across a wide range of sectors, sites and planning challenges.

From major healthcare schemes and rural diversification projects to public consultation, heritage-sensitive development and low-carbon infrastructure, June has been a strong reminder of the variety of work we are fortunate to be involved in.

Some of our key highlights this month include:

  • We secured planning permission for another exceptional Paragraph 84 dwelling, supporting the delivery of a high-quality new home in the countryside.
  • We helped secure planning permission to support the decarbonisation of several local authority buildings across the London Boroughs, continuing our work on projects that contribute to lower-carbon, more resilient public assets.
  • We supported the successful approval of a new specialist care facility in North Yorkshire, providing critical accommodation and treatment for people with acquired brain injuries and complex care needs. The application was unanimously approved at planning committee.
  • We delivered a public consultation event in South Yorkshire, helping to engage residents, businesses, local community groups and key stakeholders in shaping ambitions for a proposed new railway station development.
  • We submitted a planning application for a new kidney care centre in Greater London, including renal dialysis treatment and outpatient facilities, designed to improve access to essential healthcare services.
  • We also supported a client in shaping a masterplan for the diversification of a farm estate in Northumberland, helping explore how rural businesses can adapt, grow and make best use of their land and assets.
  • Finally, and certainly not least, we were delighted to welcome Emma Rankin to the Ethical Planning team in a Graduate Planner role.

We would like to thank all our fantastic clients, colleagues, architects, specialist consultants, local authority officers and wider project teams who have worked with us throughout the month. Successful planning outcomes are rarely achieved in isolation, and we are grateful to everyone who helps make the delivery of these projects possible.
